With more parents looking to keep their children away from digital devices and prise them away from their phone, Amazon Creek have the perfect solution for your family summer holiday. We can help keep your little, or big ones entertained on your family summer alpine holiday in Chamonix.

With camps available for children of all ages from 4 years to 17 years, they can experience some fantastic activities with professional qualified mountain experts, not to mention make some new friends of the same age. Not only will your children have a great time but they will learn new skills, build confidence and have many stories to share with their friends when they return back to school.

With endless fun for them on an alpine vacation, you will be able to sit back and relax or enjoy your own favourite alpine activities knowing they are being entertained. With a variety of activities from pony rides, treasure hunts and visits to the animal park, to water adventures such as rafting and canyoning. Rock climbing and Via Ferrata are a big hit. There really is something for everyone, both big kids, little ones, and Dad too!!

They can choose to take part in just a couple of days or go for a full five days of adventure. With three separate camps for age 3 to 7 years, 8 to 12 years and 13 to 17 years, no one will be left out!

Cham' Piou Piou Kids Camp – 3 to 7 years

The “Piou-Piou” Kids Camp offers fun and easy mountain oriented activities. Located by the Savoy field, near Chamonix town centre. The specially adapted day-care centre provides half and full day outdoor activities. All supervised by enthusiastic certified mountain leaders. Bring a pic-nic for an adventurous forest lunch. 

Upon children arrival, our qualified staff will introduce the daily program. All the outdoor activities are supervised and managed by mountain professionals.

Drop off is between 08:45 and 09:15 and collection between 16:00 and 17:00 each day.

Monday’s: Bred & jam
An Introduction to hiking - Gathering nature's delights and awakening our senses.  Enjoy nature's delights while following the trail of alpine creatures.

Half-day or Full-day - lunch available for full day or half day options

Tuesday’s: The squirrel game
Hiking and tree suspended course - Like squirrels do, leap from branch in our canopy suspended park. Listen, watch and discover the life and secrets of forest animals.

Full-day with a pic-nic lunch included

Wednesday’s: No fear for the little trapper 
Hiking and a pony ride - An introduction hike on one of the great hiking routes across the Alps. With the addition of a pony ride.

Thursday’s: The ibex game
Hiking and an introduction to rock climbing supervised by a mountain guide or climbing instructor. A day to mimic a mountain goat's agility and try to climb as an ibex!

Cham' Kids – 8 to 12 year olds

Age 8 to 12 year olds will love this 5 day alpine adventure camp ran by certified mountain guides. They can choose to partake in just one or two days or select the full five day program. Activities run from 08:45 to 16:45 each day, with pick-up and drop-off at the Cham’ Adventure office in Chamonix town centre, just a backpack with a picnic, sun hat and cream is required. All equipment is supplied.

What will they need
A light back-pack, a pic-nic lunch, water bottle, rain jacket, a fleece, sun protection, gloves (for Tuesday), hiking boots, swim suit and a towel for canyoning and rafting days.

Cham' Teens – 13 to 17 year olds

A jam packed week full of alpine adventure for your teenagers. Suitable for thirteen to seventeen year olds. All outdoor activities are supervised and managed by mountain professional leaders. Five full days of activities starting at 08:45 each day at 'Cham' Aventure' office, on the first floor of Maison de la Montagne in the centre of Chamonix. What a great break away from digital devices every 5 minutes!!

Rates

A minimum of four participants is required and maximum of eight will be in each group per mountain guide.

Full-day: 104 euros 
3 or more days of activities booked: 94 euros per day

The prices include professional and certified guiding service, private transfers to activity sites, specific equipment for each outdoor activity and Montenvers train ticket for Tuesdays activities.

Chamonix Base Camp – Teens

Mont-Blanc, Mer de Glace, Aiguilles Rouges, for centuries, these fabulous names have given birth to the Chamonix legends and modern mountaineering. This unique alpine environment continues to fascinate and attract the curiosity of all outdoor activity lovers.

This program was specifically designed to suit the interests and activity level of teenagers allowing them to experience the full potential of a mountain lifestyle. Designed for energetic teenagers in good physical shape, during the 6 days, they will enjoy hiking, climbing, sleeping in a hut, canyoning and white water rafting. And includes 3 nights in tents at a campsite and 2 nights in a mountain hut.

Transportation with a private minibus is provided throughout the trip. The end of the day is filled with games, entertainment, and meal preparation until dinner time (at the campsite). All meals are nutritionally balanced and they can make provision for children’s likes and specific dietary requirements.

This camp will be running on the following weeks:

Sunday July 08th to Friday July 13th  / Sunday August 19th to Friday August 24th.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Canyon de Barberine                                                                           
On the first day they will go to Barberine canyon to enjoy slides and jumps down mountain creeks followed by a climbing session. Meeting at the Cham-Aventure white water rafting base to pick up wetsuits and other necessary equipment. Later in the afternoon travelling by mini bus to the valley of Vallorcine where they will establish base camp for the coming week.

Day 2: Barrage d’Emosson to Refuge de Loriaz hike- Elevation gain 850m / Elevation loss 100m
Setting off for a 2-day hiking trip around the Loriaz mountain hut between the Emosson dam and the alpine pastures they will find tons of great things to see and experience. Hiking up the easy and gradual trail through the spruce forest. Gaining altitude towards the Loriaz hut where they will spend the night the ground is covered with flowered rhododendrons.


Day 3: Col de la Terrasse – Val de Tré les eaux hike - Elevation gain 800m / Elevation loss : 1300m
Today’s hike is amazing. Hiking up into the alpine bowl above the hut and over Terrace mountain pass. Reaching the high plateaux of Cheval Blanc from the top of which the views are outstanding! If they are lucky they may meet ibex, Chamonix’s local star. Then hiking down the quiet and remote Tré les Eaux alpine cirque and bowl, leading to the bottom of the valley and the base camp.

Day 4: Vallon de Bérard – Mont Buet hike - Elevation gain 700m / Elevation loss 300m
This second hiking outing’s objective is to reach the top of Mont-Buet. Today they will hike to La Pierre à Bérard mountain hut. Taking advantage of the afternoon to discover Bérard valley and its natural reserve before spending the night in a mountain hut.

Day 5: Vallon de Bérard – Mont Buet hike - Elevation gain 1,100m / Elevation loss 1,200m
It is now time for them to hike up to reach the top of Mont-Buet (3096m). This is the highest peak in the Aiguilles Rouges range and in the nearby Chablais and Fiz ranges. They will be back to the campsite in Vallorcine by the end of the day.

Day 6: Rafting                                                                                               
After their last breakfast together at the camp they head back to Chamonix to the white water rafting base and finish the week with a rafting session down the Arve River.

Depending on weather and terrain conditions, mountain leaders or guides may have to change the program appropriately.

Price: €690 per teenager (8 teenager minimum)

What’s Included :
- The organization and supervision by two qualified trekking guides

Not included:
- Drinks and personal expenditure (souvenirs).
- Repatriation insurance (mandatory)

What will they need?
- ID or valid passport.
- Authorization to leave the country
- Parental permission
- Having repatriation insurance is mandatory. Cancellation insurance is highly recommended. We provide optional insurance contracts for repatriation and trip cancellation.
