Christmas Parades in CHAMONIX

Monday 24th December 2018 - 6PM - Place du Balmat

A fairy is invited to the streets of Chamonix and will parade 9m above the streets of chamonix with dancing toys, and other magical and mythical creatures. Arriving at the Triangle of Friendship to admire the huge fir tree and take a break with Santa Claus before going to celebrate Christmas' Eve.

Friday 28 December 2018  - 5 PM

The Fairy Court parade, a nocturnal, luminous and musical parade, made up of 3 Fairies (dancers on stilts dressed in long dresses and high pyramidal headdresses) and 1 Giant.

Sunday 30 December 2018 -  5 PM

Cabaret Urbain -  A choreographed parade with humorous and offbeat sketches that evokes feminine clichés.

Skiing Events

Torchlight Descents & Night Time Skiing at Les Plannards

Thursday 3 January 2019, Wednesday 13 February 2019, Wednesday 20 February 2019, Wednesday 6 March 2019 - 7pm

Come along and watch the instructors of ESF Chamonix put on a torch light spectacle on the slopes of the Savoy! The torchlight parades are a tradition in Chamonix with entertainment, vin chaud and hot chocolate to be enjoyed by all!

Night skiing - Wednesday 13 February,  Wednesday 20 February 2019, Wednesday 27 February 2019, Wednesday 6 March 2019 - 5.30 PM to 8.30 PM.

Night Skiing in Les Houches

From 10th January to 07th February 2018, every Thursday between 8.30 PM and 10 PM.

Night skiing at the Tourchet piste in Les Houches has a fun and friendly atmosphere, enhanced by some music and a bar serving hot chocolate and vin chaud.

Access to the Tourchet draglift is free of charge for those that wish to ski or snowboard under the stars. On certain nights there may also be the opportunity to try out “snow toys” such as the snowscoot, or “vintage” equipment, such as old fashioned skis and télémarks.

After the success of the fist Musilac-Mont-Blanc festival last year, Musilac is back in Chamonix for round two this April!

The Chamonix Unlimited Festival is back again! The best of electronic music in an exceptional setting turns five years old in 2019.

Weekly Events

Latin Party at the Maison des Artistes

Every Tuesday between 5.30 PM and 1.30 AM the heart of Maison des Artistes will be beating to the rhythm of Latino Music, your first dance moves will be guided by professional dancer Paola Ballart from 9:30 pm.

Chamonix Pioniers Hockey Matches

4th, 23rd, 26th, 30th December 2018 / 4th, 8th, 15th, 25th, 29th January 2019 / 3rd, 24th February 2019 - Games start at 20:30

Tickets are 14€ for adults and 8€ for children (free for children under eight years) for league matches. For friendly matches the prices are 8/5€. Tickets can be purchased on site.

There is a bar so you can get a drink whilst you watch the game, they also serve hot food and snacks. At certain matches the school bake sales are something to look forward to, so make sure you have small change for a good cause, and great cake.

Also remember to take some warm clothes and shoes, hats and gloves - you are going to be sitting in a large freezer in a ski resort for a while!

Cross country skiing by night

Every Thursday this winter from Thursday 6th December you can enjoy the green loop through the Bois du Bouchet from 18:00-20:00

Access is free, you just need to bring your own equipment and a headtorch.

Chamonix En Rouge

Friday 1st March 2019

Join the ski instructors of the ESF Chamonix in celebrating one of their oldest traditions, and one of the biggest nights of the year!

The Place du Triangle de l'Amitié, facing the Maison de la Montagne, is "party central" as the ESF crew "paint the town red"!

Outdoor Ice Skating

The ice rink of Les Houches is an outdoor artificial ice rink, situated in the heart of the village and is open throughout the winter months from late December to the end of March.

The ice rink has a coffee shop where you can enjoy a hot drink!

Rates: Admission: €2,00 / Skate rental: €3,00

Opening times:

Events: December 28, January 4, February 15 and 22, and March 1 and 8.  - Ice Skate Nights from 8pm to 10pm offer free access and skates rental.

From 22nd December 2018 to 3rd March 2019, daily between 2pm and 8pm.
Thursday and Friday 

From December 22nd to January 6th and from February 9th to March 10th
Thursday and Friday from 14h to 22h non-stop.
